The GCI Professional Development Seminar in Tokyo Application Deadline:

Are you a secondary school educator interested in empowering youth? Are you interested in learning more about Discussion-Based Learning and Design Thinking? Do you know an educator who is? Applications for the Second Annual Professional Development Seminar taking place in Tokyo, Japan from July 29 to August 2, 2019 are now being reviewed and you have only 2 weeks left to apply!
During the Seminar, a select group of educators will:
Learn how to incorporate the Design Thinking Methodology in their classroom
Observe and partake in Harkness* (Discussion-Based Learning) Academic Sessions with Phillips Exeter Academy faculty Dr. Eimer Page

Explore Project Based Learning with Dr. Seung Kim from Stanford University
Join a collaborative session on ethics led by a Senior Project Manager from Harvard Graduate School of Education's Project Zero
Participate in a Harvard Business School Case Study led by Dr. Linda Hill
Celebrate what each person can bring from their personal experiences and share their own
Attend the inaugural GCI Forum: Engage, Ignite and Empower our Next Generation in Japan as Agents of Positive Change with fellow educators, corporate leaders, policymakers and the Japanese community
To be able to succeed in the Seminar's immersive learning experience, applicants must possess a highly developed proficiency in spoken and written English
There is a $35 fee to apply
Need-based financial aid is available on a limited basis; financial aid need must be indicated and all forms completed during the initial application
