On Saturday, May 31, 2025, we held our annual Symposium and Commencement to celebrate the outstanding accomplishments, growth, and successful completion of the GCI Fellowship by the 2024 GCI Fellows.
Over the past ten months, these remarkable young leaders have addressed global issues head-on by creating lasting impact in their communities through their unique "Glocal" Service Projects (GSPs). They have shown true commitment to the principles of global citizens, and we are honored to recognize all of their hard work and dedication.
We are also deeply grateful for the support that the Mentors have shown to our Fellows throughout the Fellowship. Their commitment and care played meaningful roles in each Fellow's growth and success!
Thank you as well to all of the families, Alumni, and GCI supporters for joining us at the Symposium and Commencement to celebrate this important milestone.
The event featured inspiring speeches from some of our Fellows, Teaching Assistants, Mentors, and staff who have been a part of this incredible journey. You can access the full recording of the event using the link below.

During the Symposium and Commencement, we were also excited to recognize 2024 Fellow Aaron Choda as this year's recipient of the Seed Funding Opportunity!
This USD $1,000 award is designed to support Fellows who have developed outstanding and feasible GSPs, along with a clear, thoughtful, and well-scoped plan for implementation. Aaron's project---Brushing Away Barriers, an art therapy program for underserved youth in Nairobi, Kenya that has already benefited over 70 students---stood out for its clarity, impact, and potential to make long-lasting positive change in his community.
Please join us in congratulating Aaron on this achievement. You can read more about Aaron's GSP on our website using the link below.
Thank you all for being part of this inspiring journey and celebrating the continued passion and brilliance of all our Fellows. Together, we honor the achievements of these incredible young leaders and look forward to the bright futures they are shaping across the world.
