First Stop: Tokyo, Japan!
GCI embraces diversity, human connectivity, ethical leadership, and passionate citizens who want to make an impact. Next summer, we will embrace our first international host city! Tokyo will provide the launchpad for our Fellowship 2019 as the Global Citizens Youth Summit kicks-off ten days of thoughtful discussion, collaboration with a global cohort and devising solutions to pressing global issues that can be acted upon at the local level by engaged Fellows. Due to the success of our first Professional Development Seminar this past summer, we will welcome a new set of Educators to join us in Tokyo as well to learn the GCI Method. Check out a sneak peek:
We are thrilled to share that we have received endorsements for our programs from many influential people and organizations:
Innovative Schools Network (ISN)
Hideki Matsui, Baseball Legend
Ministry of Education
Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Yumiko Murakami, Head of OECD Tokyo Centre
United States Embassy in Japan
US-Japan Council
We are excited to announce that we will be introducing a new program in Tokyo that will be open to the public – The Global Education Forum (GEF).
GEF will be held in the heart of Tokyo at Academy Hills in Roppongi. The forum will explore how student-centric learning and innovation nurtures tomorrow’s social changemakers and global leaders. GEF will feature Harvard Business School Professor, Dr. Linda Hill, as the keynote speaker. Dr. Hill will speak about collective genius and leading innovation.
We invite students, educators, parents, policymakers and community members to join us in this important conversation to ensure that we move to embrace a more globally-minded approach to education.
We are thankful to all of our partners and sponsors who have already embraced our Going Global campaign, including, most recently, Dai-ichi Life and IiBC. We invite sponsors, both big and small, to support us in our latest endeavor!
Please contact us to learn about the many opportunities to share in our mission to empower youth from all sectors of society to be lifelong leaders of positive change!
