Celebrating 10 Years of Impact

What began as our founder's vision and fueled by dreams and hopes, has grown into an established organization with a proven and impactful program. Whether you’ve known GCI from the beginning, are just learning about it today, or somewhere in between, thank you so much for being on the journey with us. We look forward to continuing to honor and leverage our legacy to forge a bright and meaningful future together with Bald Mountain Meadow, our Summit partner.

I now feel responsible not only for my country and community, but also for communities all around the world.

I strongly believe that the Summit and the GCI Fellowship enhanced my communication skills and made me more active.

The Summit has been a very transformative experience for me as it has taught [me] the importance of being more understanding of different people.

The Summit redefined what success meant for me. Success to me is having the ability to recognize that I am fortunate in society and use that as a tool to uplift as many less fortunate people as possible.

The networking opportunities were the best part of my experience. I am still in touch with several Fellows from my year on various platforms. In a week, we were able to build lasting bonds.

The Summit helped me step out of my comfort zone and initiate action. Many of us are aware about global issues, but we do not have the right tools or support to tackle them. Being taught certain methods to develop an idea through the design thinking process, for example, the concept of creating change sounded more realistic to me.

Advocacy is standing up for something or someone with empathy. My understanding of it has changed after the GCI LEAD Challenge because I now know advocacy should come with empathy and making space at the table instead of being just loud and determined.

Harkness® and Design Thinking, which have been used through the Summit, have been most valuable to me. In my school, we are not taught to nurture creativity but instead, we are encouraged to stay quiet and do individual work. But in the Harkness® [classroom], we are encouraged to speak up and think critically so that we can build on others' ideas and communicate our ideas.

The most valuable thing to me was making connections with everyone here. We had many opportunities to bond and get to know one another and now I consider these people my family. I have made lifelong friendships and am forever grateful.

Through this Summit, I truly believe that both my future and attitude have been changed. No longer will I feel the need to shout to be heard, and no longer will I stop myself from being seen for who I am.
