Dear GCI Community,
As we approach our highly anticipated 2024 GCI Summit, our tenth year program, I want to share some important updates and reaffirm our commitment to delivering an exceptional experience for our Fellows, their parents/guardians, and our community of global changemakers.
Recently, GCI underwent a reorganization which resulted in some changes within our leadership
team. While this transition included the elimination of senior positions, I want to assure you
that our dedication to providing a meaningful and impactful Summit remains unwavering. Moving
forward, we have Molly Simmons from Phillips Exeter Academy, joining us to lead the Summit. With over 16 years of experience as an educator and leader, including deep experience in running youth programs, she is an outstanding person to lead the program. Our two Program Managers, Chisato Sakamoto and Emily McCabe, will continue in their roles. Supporting them during the summer will be Marcie Bruder, Maya Kinsman, and Jackie Christal, all previous GCI professionals, who have helped me lead the Summit in past years and are familiar faces. We are confident that this year's Summit will be outstanding. All the key elements are in place,
and we have a robust support system of dedicated professionals and volunteers working
tirelessly to ensure that the participants will have an outstanding experience. Our team is united and focused on creating an enriching environment where our Fellows can learn, grow, and be inspired.
The GCI community is at the heart of everything we do, and we are honored to have your trust and support. Thank you for being a part of the GCI community and for believing in our mission. We look forward to welcoming Fellows from around the world to this year's Summit and witnessing the incredible growth and inspiration that will unfold.
Warm regards,
Yumi Kuwana
GCI Founder and Chair
